Transportation

In 2006, a bypass (Hwy. 448) was opened that allows motorists to travel around the busiest intersection in Sevier County.
(Hwy. 66/ Hwy. 441)

The bypass is part of the City's newly implemented Ultraflow traffic plan that has eased traffic congestion throughout the downtown area. Also, a major east/west connector between the Parkway and Veterans Blvd. (Collier Drive) was opened in 2006, allowing citizens and visitors to efficiently travel between these two major roads. Several major road projects are scheduled to be completed in the near future, including the widening of Hwy. 66 and completion of Veterans Blvd., a new north/south route from Sevierville to Pigeon Forge. Veterans Blvd. was partially opened to traffic in 2006. City and State spending on new road projects and existing road projects between 2005 - 2010 is estimated at $130 million.
